PVA, or polyvinyl alcohol, is a synthetic polymer that dissolves in water and may be customised in a number of ways. PVA can be created in many different ways, such as liquids, coatings, beads, lubricants, and threads of fibre. PVA has useful qualities that make it a useful filament yarn: extreme tenacity. Low-elongation.
When compared to other materials, this fibre is exceptionally compact, malleable, and capable of strengthening a wide range of materials. PVA is very flexible as well.
PVA yarns can be created with higher or lower tenacity, higher or lower elongation, and a variety of weights and thicknesses depending on the particular purpose.
PVA also has the benefit of being simple to remove because it is water soluble. PVA fibre, for instance, can support a structure during 3D printing and then be removed once it is no longer required.
To be employed in product applications, these yarns frequently need to be further processed through twisting, winding, and/or single-end coating or treatment.
These items are offered and processed by Service Thread, and they can advise you on which yarns will work best for your purpose. Depending on the use these fibres and yarns are required for, there are several PVA substitutes.
Global PVA yarn market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
A new company of Unifi, Inc. called Unifi Textiles Colombo Private Limited (UTCL) in Sri Lanka would increase the availability of REPREVE recycled fibre and other Premier Value Added (PVA) yarn on a global scale. By the end of the third quarter of 2016, it is anticipated that the new expansion will start operating.
The growth follows Unifi’s introduction of new distribution channels through KORTEKS and Sun Chemical, respectively, in Taiwan and Turkey.
According to, UTCL displays their dedication to operational excellence in their worldwide supply chain. They have a global presence for PVA products that includes the Americas, China, Turkey, Taiwan, and, as of recently, Sri Lanka, so they are able to supply their customers anywhere they decide to create a programme.
