INTRODUCTION
A Quad Satellite Demodulator or satmodem is a modem used to establish data transfers using a communications satellite as a relay. A Quad Satellite Demodulator’s main function is to transform an input bitstream to a radio signal and vice versa.
There are some devices that include only a demodulator (and no modulator, thus only allowing data to be downloaded by satellite) that are also referred to as “Quad Satellite Demodulators.”
These devices are used in satellite Internet access (in this case uploaded data is transferred through a conventional PSTN modem or an ADSL modem).A modulated signal is a sequence of symbols, pieces of data represented by a corresponding signal state, e.g. a bit or a few bits, depending upon the modulation scheme being used.
Recovering a symbol clock (making a local symbol clock generator synchronous with the remote one) is one of the most important tasks of a demodulator.
Similarly, a signal received from a satellite is firstly downconverted (this is done by a Low-noise block converter – LNB), then demodulated by a modem, and at last handled by data terminal equipment. The LNB is usually powered by the modem through the signal cable
GLOBAL QUAD SATELLITE DEMODULATOR MARKET SIZE AND FORECAST
The Global Quad Satellite Demodulator market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH
Ultra-efficient DVB-S/S2X satellite demodulator for the X platform – a leading provider of next-generation video processing platforms for broadcast and streaming high-quality video, announce the immediate availability of the new DVB-S/S2X ultra-efficient L-band satellite demodulator for the X platform. The module and platform is on display at stand G-11 at the upcoming ANGA COM in Cologne, Germany.
The DVB-S/S2X L-band satellite demodulator module is a plug-in module capable of recovering all of the services delivered by up to 32 different satellite transponders simultaneously. This offers unprecedented density per RU and enables Appear’s X platform to demodulate up to 192 transponders per 1RU whilst offering a variety of integrated processing and streaming options.
The satellite module offers flexible support for the DVB-S, DVB-S2 and DVB-S2X standards and covers both the DTH and contribution markets. Turnaround customers will appreciate the extreme density on offer, the integrated de-multiplexing function which simplifies stream processing and the integrated L-band distribution matrix.
Reducing the need for L-band switches, associated wiring and rack space is a real cost saver. The module supports full input analysis with detailed service and PID view. Incoming multiplexes can be de-multiplexed on input, or the complete transport stream can be transparently mapped from input to output.
