    NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH

GE wins multiple orders of high-voltage power transformers and reactors.Power Grid Corporation places numerous orders with GE for 765 kV transformers and reactors.

For the new substations being built by PGCIL in the Indian state of Rajasthan to evacuate 8.1 gigawatts (GW) of green power from the state’s solar energy zones, GE developed 45 units of 765 kV transformers and reactors.

The Grid Solutions division of GE Renewable Energy said that has had received several orders for the provision of 765 kV transformers and reactors for India. The main state-owned transmission company.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), granted the contracts. Modern power transformer manufacturing plant owned by GE’s Grid Solutions will provide the project with the transformers and reactors it needs.

Under Phase-II of the Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan Project, GE transformers and reactors will be installed in the new substations that PGCIL will establish in the Indian state of Rajasthan to evacuate 8.1 gigawatts (GW) of power from the state’s solar energy zones.

This comprises the removal of energy from four solar energy zones in Rajasthan for subsequent distribution to different recipients. These zones include 1.05 GW from Bhadla, 2.2 GW from Fatehgarh, 1.9 GW from Ramgarh, and 2.95 GW from Bikaner.

Additionally, it contains a lot of desert and uncultivated area, which makes it the perfect location for the production of solar energy. Rajasthan is becoming a pioneer in the production of renewable energy among the Indian states as a result of these geographic and environmental advantages.

The Indian government has set a goal of installing 175 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2022, of which 100 GW will come from solar energy and 60 GW would come from wind energy. This includes Rajasthan’s estimated 20 GW of solar production capacity.
