    China announces the lunar landing by a robotic spacecraft to be a success. From the Wenchang Space Launch Center in Wenchang, a Long March-5 Y5 rocket carrying the Chang’e-5 moon probe lifts off.


    The China National Space Administration (CNSA) hailed the launch a success and said in a statement that the rocket flew for nearly 37 minutes before sending the spacecraft on its planned trajectory.


    In order to better comprehend the moon’s formation and origins, scientists will be able to use the lunar material that will be collected by the Chang’e-5 mission, which was given its name after the ancient Chinese moon goddess. 


    In advance of more complicated missions, this expedition will evaluate China’s capability to remotely collect space samples.CNSA employees in blue uniforms were seen celebrating and applauding as they watched the spacecraft ascend through the atmosphere and illuminate the night sky on state broadcaster CCTV, which covered the launch live.


    The spacecraft is designed to send two vehicles to the lunar surface, a lander and an ascender, once it enters the moon’s orbit. The total mission is expected to last about 23 days, and the probe will spend about two days on the lunar surface.


    A robotic arm will be used to scoop up dirt and rocks as the lander drills into the lunar surface. This substance would be added to the ascender craft, which is planned to transport it from the surface and connect with an orbiting module.
