Motors with a “Raised Steel Frame” (RSF). The frame housing and feet of these motors are made of mild rolled steel. They range in size from very small to about 25 horsepower. They are common in many industries; however, when aligning, they necessitate some special consideration.
The mechanical interface of a motor to attached actuators is defined by the size of its frame. Motors with the same frame size can have different power, torque, and other characteristics while maintaining the same geometrical properties. The length of the motor housing is not affected by the frame size.
The moulding (frame material), matboard, glaze, and backing are the four most important framing components. The moulding is purely decorative, whereas the glaze, matboard, and backing serve an important conservation purpose.
The Global Rolled steel motor frame market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
Weg introduces EPAct and NEMA rolled steel motors. Weg Electric has launched a new line of rolled steel motors in high efficiency (EPAct) and NEMA Premium models, with frame sizes ranging from NEMA 56 to 254/6T.All motors in the line are rated from 0.25 to 25 HP and can be specified as foot mount, C-face, or footless, with TEFC and ODP enclosure as standard and TEAO and TENV as options.
A new foot design, as well as new and stronger frame eyebolts, are among the new features. There is a single eye bolt on frames 182/4T and up, and a second eyebolt on the non-drive end of frames 213/5T and 254/6T allows for vertical lifting. The terminal box can also rotate in 90° increments for greater installation flexibility.
