The rise in investment in railway network projects and the rise in demand for cutting-edge transportation infrastructure are the two main factors influencing the growth of the railway signalling system market.
Although, the market's expansion is hampered by high implementation costs and a rise in smart solutions. Additionally, expanding the railway network is anticipated to be made possible by the introduction of autonomous systems and improved infrastructure, creating attractive chances for the railway signalling system industry.
The expansion of the railway network has made it possible to travel more safely and punctually. This has been made possible by the growth in population and the need for mobility solutions for trains. The market for railroad signalling systems expanded as a result.
The Saudi Arabia Rail Signaling Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
The Saudi Railway Company (SAR) and Thales have agreed to a two-year maintenance agreement for the 2,400-kilometre Northern Train project's signalling, communications, and electromechanical systems.
The longest railway in the world with cutting-edge signalling and communications equipment is the Northern Train project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Thales will carry out the maintenance tasks using specialised engineers and technicians dispersed among eight maintenance sites throughout the 2,400 kilometres of the railway line.
The deal calls for the knowledge transfer, which will be carried out through a training programme at Thales' plants throughout the kingdom. In the course of the two-year contract, this will enable SAR maintenance teams to progressively take over the maintenance tasks.
In order to fulfil these goals, Thales has helped Saudi Railway Polytechnic's electronic laboratories by funding their equipment and by simulating the signalling and communication systems that will be utilised in the training programmes.
