Silicone is a polymer that contains silicon along with other elements including carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen. Silicone is what makes up silicone rubber, an elastomer (material that resembles rubber).
There are several formulas of silicone rubbers, and they are widely employed in industry. One or two parts are frequently used to create silicone rubbers, and fillers may be added to enhance functionality or lower price.
From 55 to 300 °C (70 to 570 °F), silicone rubber is typically non-reactive, stable, and resistant to harsh conditions without losing its useful qualities.
Silicone rubber is used in a wide range of products because of these characteristics and the ease with which it can be manufactured and shaped.
Examples include voltage line insulators, automotive applications, cooking, baking, and food storage items, apparel such as undergarments, sportswear, and footwear, electronics, medical devices, and implants, as well as silicone sealants used in home improvement and hardware.
The translucent, high-quality sheeting material known as silicone film. These films, despite being exceedingly thin, have a low modulus, a high specific resistivity, and a high dielectric strength.
They are also highly elastic. The film is offered by the linear metre with a maximum roll length of 50 metres, and is available in widths of 250mm.
We provide a range of thicknesses between 0.02mm and 0.4mm. This gives you more control and guarantees that you obtain the ideal solution to meet your exact requirements.
One can get many of the beneficial qualities included in typical silicone products in the form of thin silicone film. From -45°C to +200°C, this product has a wide operating temperature range.
These sheets offer good resistance to weathering, UV, and ozone damage and are chemically inert. Additionally, they are highly permeable to gas and water vapour.
The Global silicone rubber film market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2030.
New silicone laminate will be launched by WACKER.
WACKER will unveil NEXIPAL®, a brand-new silicone laminate with electroactive qualities, for the first time at the International Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber.
It is made up of a number of extremely thin silicone rubber precision films. Prior to lamination, the films are coated with a substance that is electrically conductive.
The end product is an actuator that, as soon as electrical voltage is supplied, produces movement. In addition, NEXIPAL® can function as a sensor by electrically monitoring deformations.
The silicone laminate is perfect for use in cutting-edge applications since it is energy-efficient, compact, and wear-free.
Tablet screens with NEXIPAL technology produce vibrations and haptic feedback that mimic the appearance of control buttons or keypads that can be touched blindly to operate. A feature like that may be very helpful in automotive applications.
