Synchronous dynamic random-access memory with a high bandwidth (“double data rate”) interface is known as Double Data Rate 4 Synchronous Dynamic Random-Access Memory (DDR4 SDRAM).
By adding bank groups, which enable an eight-prefetch in one group and a second to be conducted separately in another, DDR4 expands the aforementioned SDRAM architecture.
DDR4 time-division multiplexes its internal bank groups to effectively conceal the fact that the internal core needs more time than what is needed for an eight-word burst at the I/O interface.
DDR4 has more banks with noticeably lower row sizes than DDR3, which enhances performance by allowing devices to cycle through different banks more quickly.
The global space – grade DDR4 memory market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2030.
Ultra-high-density space grade DDR4 memories from Teledyne e2v Semiconductors are currently being delivered to significant clients on a global scale.
Teledyne e2v’s space grade DDR4s, which have a 4GByte storage capacity and measurements of just 15mm x 20mm x 1.92mm, exhibit a much better storage density than competing solutions, using only half the PCB space and almost an order of magnitude less volume. They provide data transfer speeds of 2.4GT/s while consistently delivering outstanding performance.
Each DDR4T04G72 memory is offered in a multi-chip package and has extensive bus capabilities, with 64 bits set aside for data transfer and an additional 8 bits for error correction. The company’s Qormino CPUs pair well with the memory, which is also compatible with the majority of processors, SoCs, and FPGAs from other manufacturers.
These DDR4s underwent radiation testing and characterization, which revealed that their SEL threshold is higher than 60MeV.cm2/mg. They have SEU and SEFI data that is greater than 60MeV.cm2/mg and have shown resistance to 100krad DID.
The DDR4s can be ordered up to NASA Level 1 and in industrial temperature ranges of -40C to 105C and defense temperature ranges of -55C to 125C. This will allow for the consideration of a wider range of potential applications.
