Electric and hybrid cars with low emissions are driving the development of mobility as we know it. Since electric cars carry a heavier load and must withstand high instantaneous torque, which increases tyre wear, we need tyres with stronger constructions and more durable rubber compositions.
Since more weight and inertia lead to longer braking distances, Companies especially emphasis on having the finest grip.
Due to variables including strong instant torque, increased weight, the need for a long-range, and lower emissions, tyres for electric cars, therefore, offer a smoother, more energy-efficient, and low-impact ride.
The Turkey EV Tire Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2026, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2027.
Hankook, a leading tyre manufacturer, will introduce its first line of tyres specifically for electric cars, called iON. By adopting this strategy, the business hopes to significantly advance the mobility transition to zero-emission cars from the standpoint of tyre selection.
For owners of electric vehicles, this means a more extended range per battery charge and an all-around better driving experience as compared to traditional tyres.
The new Hankook iON products are also specifically made for the strong instantaneous torques generated by powerful electric cars.
The iON devices will initially be offered in three styles, in sizes ranging from 18 to 22 inches, during the market launch: as the summer tyre design of the Hankook Ventus iON S
The Prometeon Tyre Group, the only tyre producer solely dedicated to the industrial sector, today unveiled the location of its newest research and development facility, which was constructed in Turkey (Kocaeli).
The establishment of cutting-edge tyre technologies that can reduce fuel use and CO2 emissions will be facilitated by the new R&D Center.
Other objectives of the new factory include minimising fuel consumption by lowering product rolling resistance and achieving the same production levels with reduced energy costs through leaner operations.
The Kocaeli facility, which was established in 1960 as Turkey's first tyre manufacturing, is home to the Prometeon R&D Center. As a result of this investment, the R&D team in Turkey will increase to 30 engineers.
