    The Pentagon reportedly changed the program to expedite the procurement of the F-35C and purchase more F/A-18E/F Super Hornets in order to meet the Navy’s anticipated fighter shortage.


    In the event that the future F/A-XX becomes an unmanned strike platform, having the CBARS as the first carrier-based UAV offers a less complicated bridge. Additionally, it covers the carriers’ planned requirement for an organic refueling aircraft.
