INTRODUCTION
Remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) are important tools for ocean exploration. These robots can explore areas of the ocean that humans would find too dangerous or difficult to access. Deep-sea mining is the extraction of mineral deposits from the ocean's deep seabed (below 200 metres).
Deep-sea mining may begin soon due to depleting terrestrial deposits and rising metal demand, despite research indicating that it could destroy habitats and wipe out species. When dividing by humans is impractical or dangerous, such as when working in deep water or investigating submerged hazards, underwater robots are frequently used.
GLOBAL UNDERWATER MINING ROBOT MARKET SIZE AND FORECAST
The Global underwater mining robot market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH
Qysea Technology Introduces a Robot for Underwater Missions Qysea Technology, a Chinese startup, has introduced the 'FIFISH V6 EXPERT,' an underwater robot and multi-capable tool designed to improve underwater missions and operations. To provide optimal diving performance and operating time, the robot can be equipped with an onshore power supply system.
The FIFISH V6 EXPERT's six thrusters enable 360-degree omnidirectional movement, a depth rating of 100 metres, and a speed of 4.9 feet per second. It has a 4K UHD underwater camera lens, a 166-degree ultra-wide field of view, a 12-megapixel resolution, and slow-motion filming capabilities at 240 FPS (frame rate).
The vision enhancement algorithms aim to enhance the vibrancy of the underwater world, allowing users to record every detail required for their underwater operations and missions. The FIFISH V6 EXPERT delivers vibrant images and videos even in the darkest environments thanks to a pair of 6000 lumens LED (light-emitting diode) lights and a 4K UHD camera.
Underwater robot sensing technologies have recently gained a lot of attention in the fields of marine engineering and resource exploitation. Because of underwater robotics, exploration is becoming more affordable and accessible.
Scientists can now access previously inaccessible parts of the ocean. Because of their ability to withstand extreme conditions, these bots can collect samples, measure water temperatures, and monitor marine life. Explorers and specialists in offshore energy, aquaculture, shipping, and subsea construction can use the robot to improve their underwater operating experiences.
