This invention relates to a process and device for creating a wrap-around package that can hold multiple containers. The package is often shaped like a sleeve, but it also has end panel pieces at each end of the sleeve that restrict the containers’ ability to move sideways and keep them attached to the package.
An appropriate packaging machine is equipped with a static folding rail that is used in a well-known folding method to fold the end panel element at one end of the machine downward in relation to the top panel of the sleeve in order to form the package. Moving machine parts, however, fold the opposing end panel element into place.
