RECENT DEVELOPMENT

 

In order to bring free internet connectivity to rural parts of the country where none of the country's mobile operators had previously been present at the ANGOTIC, Angola Telecom announced the creation of a new service called Conecta Angola.

In Bela Vista, Cunhinga municipality in Bié Province, the pilot project is already in progress, allowing students and other users at the neighborhood Academic Centre of Excellence to utilize modern internet facilities without charge.

 

The project will be expanded to additional schools and public buildings in rural areas where it is not currently commercially feasible for other carriers to establish broadband networks, including hospitals and municipal administration offices.
