Automotive grade SMD rectifiers means surface mounted diode. This is a better technology than the first generation DIP LEDs. The SMD type LEDs are mounted on an aluminum substrate and enveloped in an epoxy resin.
It is a method in which the electrical components are mounted directly onto the surface of a printed circuit board (PCB). An electrical component mounted in this manner is referred to as a surface-mount device (SMD)
SMD’s are competitively priced and are designed to suit high volume automated mounting. These characteristics make SMD’s very useful in the following industries: a wide range of electronics, especially where a high performance and accuracy are required. Such as automotive, aviation and medical.
The Global Automotive Grade SMD Rectifiers market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
Diodes’ automotive-grade, high-voltage rectifiers offer robustness and a small footprint in an SOD123F package.
Diodes Incorporated announces the introduction of an automotive-grade, high-voltage rectifier series which is housed in the compact SOD123F package.
These rectifiers provide comparable electrical performance compared to a device in an SMA package, but with lower thermal resistance (RӨJC-_TYP = 13ºC/W) and a much smaller footprint (3.5 mm x 1.8 mm x 1 mm typical), which occupies 57% less PCB space than an SMA.
Additionally, the exceptional thermal performance of the flat-lead package provides a more efficient, cooler running solution and improves the safe operating area of the device, even in harsh automotive environments.
The S1MSWFQ device features standard recovery time (trr_TYP = 1μs) while the RS1MSWFQ device offers fast recovery time (trr_TYP = 240 ns). In addition, these devices support high reverse breakdown voltage (VBR = 1,000 V), low-leakage current (IR_MAX = 10 μA at VR = 1,000 V), average rectified output current (IO = 1 A), and high peak forward surge current (IFSM = 25 A).
Both products are suitable for reverse protection and blocking applications. With its fast reverse recovery time, the RS1MSWFQ is also suitable for switching applications.
These devices are qualified to AEC-Q101 and are supported by a PPAP. The SOD123F package is fully green and RoHS-compliant.
