INTRODUCTION
Polycarbonate and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) are two thermoplastic materials that are combined to form PC/ABS (polycarbonate/acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene terpolymer blend). Both PC/ABS materials are amorphous polymers, which are widely used. These two materials can be processed more easily and have non-halo flame retardancy when they are alloyed.
PC-ABS is an engineering thermoplastic with high impact and low volume that makes stronger parts that replicate the material characteristics of the finished product. PC-ABS combines the flexibility of ABS with the strength and heat resistance of PC. This mixture outperforms ordinary ABS by 5 to 60%.
Global Automotive HVAC PC/ABS Resin Market Size And Forecast
The Global Automotive HVAC PC/ABS Resin market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH
A PTFE-free polycarbonate/acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (PC/ABS) compound has been introduced by sabic to stifle buzz, squeak, and rattle (BSR) sounds in automobile interiors. This compound is unfilled and colorable.
LNP Lubriloy N2000, which is internally lubricated, is a paintable drop-in material that can considerably minimise friction and stick-slip behaviour between moulded parts to limit or prevent unwelcome noise. The unique olefinic alloy has been compatibilized and is devoid of silicone and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).
A totally compatible olefinic alloy serves as the foundation for Sabic's lubricating technology. In plastic parts moving across metal and plastic surfaces, it enables the LNP Lubriloy N2000 compound to give a low coefficient of friction (COF) and outstanding wear performance.
In comparison to non-modified PC/ABS materials, which often have values larger than 5, Lubriloy N2000 compound showed a risk priority number (RPN) of less than 3 when tested using the BSR test VDA 230-206.
The new substance may be employed in consumer electronics applications where less friction or better wear are required, in addition to car interior parts like mirror housings and trim, cupholders, button guides, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) frames.
