Calcium Soap Grease-Mineral oil, fatty acids, calcium hydroxide (hydrated lime), and water are combined and boiled to achieve saponification in the normal manufacturing process of calcium soap grease. After the water content has been adjusted, the operation is finished.
Tallow-based grease contains a small quantity of water as a structural stabiliser; however, when heated over 80°C, the water is lost, causing the grease's structure to break down and the separation of the oil from the thickener.
It is used for general plain bearings working at relatively low speeds and modest loads where temperature would not climb above 70°C in service because to its weak heat resistance. On the other hand, because of its strong water resistance, grease works well in wet applications.
Grease produced by the use of caster oil's fatty acid is devoid of water. It can be used up to roughly 100°C because the structure is stabilised without water.
