RECENT DEVELOPMENT

Carbon fibre wing flaps for the C-130J will be developed by Quickstep. Wing flap production for the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft was given to the company as part of a contract.

A memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the production and delivery of 120 sets of C-130J carbon-fibre wing flaps has been signed between Quickstep Holdings Ltd., a producer of premium carbon-fibre composite parts, and Lockheed Martin, a leading worldwide security and aerospace firm.

They are excited to formally ratify this Memorandum of Understanding with Lockheed Martin, which gives Quick Step more security. 120 ship-sets of carbon-fibre wing flaps will be provided by us through 2018 as per the terms of the deal. 

Since winning the contract against fierce international competition, they have advanced significantly, qualifying procedures, moving manufacturing jigs, developing qualified trained personnel, and starting production, among other accomplishments. The first finished assemblies will be delivered in the coming weeks, as planned.

Four carbon fibre wing flaps are included in each wing flap ship-set, and each flap has more than 200 distinct parts, including carbon ribs, spars, and skins. The creation and production of the parts involve the usage of more than 200 tools. The delivery of the wing flaps is predicted to occur in sets of about two.

One of two key aerospace contracts given to Quickstep, which also manufactures parts for the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter program, is the Lockheed Martin C-130J wing flaps program.
