When compared to continuous generator set usage, customers can also lower fuel costs, related maintenance requirements, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by utilizing efficiency gains to minimize fuel usage.

 

The Cat Compact ESS module is made for quick plug-and-play integration and installation, and it works with any mix of natural gas, diesel, and renewable energy sources like solar or wind.  When needed, it releases energy from its reserve after storing excess power from these sources. It has an energy control module (ECM), an onboard management system that tracks load levels continuously and automatically switches between stored energy and the power set by the generator when needed, only using the generator set for larger loads or recharging. 

 

 Cat Compact ESS modules are made for applications that need prolonged low loads, like those that happen at night, all day, or during times when a silent energy source is needed.  The Cat Compact ESS modules have the potential to reduce fuel consumption, related greenhouse gas emissions, and maintenance costs over time when utilized in these applications.
