Contrary to divergent-mode sensors, convergent-mode sensors make excellent use of reflecting energy. A lens system is used by convergent-mode sensors to precisely focus the emitter and receiver parts in front of the sensor.
A set distance from the sensor lens is created by this design, which results in a tiny, concentrated, and well defined sensing region. Reflective energy is being used very effectively here.
The proximity mode and the convergent mode of Beam Make sensing are extremely similar. Similar to the proximity sensor, the convergent beam sensor reacts to a light beam route that bounces off an object's surface.
A lens system is used by convergent-mode sensors to precisely focus the emitter and receiver parts in front of the sensor. Convergent-mode sensors, like diffuse-mode and divergent-mode sensors, pick up an object when it completes or "makes" the light beam.
The Global Convergent beam sensor market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
OMRON Corporation, introduced the Light Convergent Reflective Sensor "B5W-LB series" for use in industrial equipment on a global scale.
Utilizing four different types of aspherical lenses, the "B5W-LB series" from OMRON achieves steady detection with a broad sensing range independent of colors and materials including glossy, black, and clear surfaces.
The demand for sensors that can accurately detect products without being influenced by the design of containers and packages is increasing as improvements have been made in a wide range of industrial equipment, such as packagers and coffee makers, and they have become more sophisticated and multifunctional.
On the basis that detection is carried out under specified circumstances dependent on the color and material of the object to be detected, conventional reflected sensors*1 that have been integrated into equipment have been employed. When the object was altered or added, there was a problem with unreliable detection.
The "B5W-LB series" sensors are not influenced by a change in object color and/or material thanks to the use of the "detection by light convergent reflective method" that has been utilized for sensors primarily for factory manufacturing facilities, helping to reduce faults.
A product that is not in its intended place may go unnoticed by sensors using the light convergent reflective approach because they have a smaller detection range.
In order to ensure a broader detection range and enable steady detection even when product locations change, the "B5W-LB series" sensors incorporated OMRON's unique lens construction integrating four types of aspheric lenses.
