One of the most significant businesses in Croatia is the production of manufactured metal products and basic metals. Companies in the metal industry concentrate on exports, the adoption of new technology, and certification of the quality management system, ecologically friendly production, and linking domestic and international producers.
The Croatian metal industry’s production schedule is very varied and capable of satisfying the needs of potential partners and customers. The demand for stronger and easier to manufacture metals led to the development of the steel industry.
The Croatia Steel market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
Acciaierie Bertoli Safau, the steelmaking division of the Danieli Group, is taking a significant step to ensure a promising future for steel production in Croatia with its subsidiary ABS Sisak.
ABS ushers in a new era of more sustainable steel production and ensures alignment with global climate commitments. The newly announced investment will fund rolling mill building at ABS Sisak as well as steel melting process improvement projects. The facility will be entirely digitalized, increasing energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.
As a result, Sisak’s production capacity will rise and the company will be able to supply finished goods to both the domestic and European markets.
With the introduction of Q-One, one of the most recent innovations in steel melting that was created and tested right here, at the Sisak plant, and which represents the introduction of digital power feeding for melting and serves as a benchmark technology in the steel melting process, the modernization process got under way two years ago.
With the addition of the Digimelter, which will enable the direct use of renewable energy sources, the current ABS Sisak melt shop will now be modernised.
There, the factory will be powered by solar energy due to a wide surface area that can be covered by solar panels, enabling ABS to herald in a new age of more sustainable steel manufacturing and assure compliance with international climate commitments.
Furthermore, by generating roughly 180 jobs and other employment opportunities for local service, logistic, and maintenance providers, this development will support economic revival for the benefit of the entire region.
The Croatian government will create a task group to address potential issues and guarantee project effectiveness in light of the project’s complexity and importance to the country.
