KONTRON INTRODUCES SECOND ETX-PM EXPANDED CPU MODULE. The new product expands the Intel Pentium M processor's high-performance mobile technology to yet another Kontron embedded form factor. The processor is a component of the Intel Centrino chipset.
The ETX-PM operates at 1.6 GHz and has 1 GB of DDR RAM. The 1.6 GHz ETX-PM offers even faster performance compared to the original 1.1 GHz version while maintaining incredibly low power consumption.
The ETX-PM raises the bar for embedded systems performance even higher with controllable heat dissipation, DDR-SDRAM (with ECC support), and USB 2.0 The ETX-PM, one of four Kontron embedded designs in this processor performance class, solidifies the company's position as the industry leader in the market and in the field of developing the embedded computers.
Other Pentium M designs that Kontron recently released include the ePCI-101 half-size PICMG 1.2 module, the 3.5-inch JRex-PM board, and the CP306 3U CompactPCI module. Kontron anticipates announcing additional new designs soon.
