    INTRODUCTION

    A high heat load and an unbalanced flow in parallel liquid cooling systems can cause variations in the temperature of every cell throughout the entire battery pack, shortening the battery pack’s lifespan.

     

    For a 288V Ni-MH battery pack, a parallel-series combined liquid cooling system was constructed in this work, and numerous factors that affect the system’s flow balance through heat transfer and fluid dynamics were determined.

     

    The results of the thermal-fluid simulation were then verified by conducting battery pack temperature experiments on a bench and in a car, using the StarCCM+ software. The findings show that the temperature and temperature differential within the cell may be maintained within a desirable range.

    For applications such as thermostat housings and water pumps, it offers high mechanical strength, design flexibility, excellent surface aspect, and ease of processing. Additionally important characteristics of the grades are dimensional stability at high temperatures and coolant and salt resistance.
