Two closed-cell, crosslinked foam materials, ZOTEK N B50 (Nylon 6) and ZOTEK N A30 (nylon/polyolefin alloy), have different compression settings and compression behaviour.
Future research into the post-impact behaviour of these foams will be built on the findings of this work. At nine different temperatures ranging from 5 to 90 °C, the performance of the compression set was evaluated at strains of 25, 37, and 50%.
Four different temperatures between 23 and 90 °C were used for compression testing with continuous strain rates. In order to assess the dependence of strain rate on strain rate, compression experiments at 23 °C were repeated at four strain rates ranging from 0.3 to 550 hr 1.
The experimental findings were scaled using the Nagy and Williams-Landel-Ferry scaling factors for strain rate and temperature, and equations were derived that permitted the performance of the two polyamide-based foams to be extrapolated over the study's temperature and strain rate range.
The base polymers' necessary material qualities of interest have been evaluated, and they are now given and analysed in relation to how well the foam materials work.

For the casing of a newly developed small air compressor used in automobile repair kits to patch flat tyres, DSM Engineering Plastics provided a high-temperature polyamide (PA) grade under its ForTii line. Multiple die-cast zinc components are replaced with the injection-molded material, which also more than halves the weight of the air pump.
The pump is made by Chinese company Guan Xiang, a leading producer of portable air compressors. The company was able to significantly reduce its production costs, as ForTii enabled extra functional integration into a single component and eliminated secondary assembly operations associated with zinc die-cast parts.
