Ferrites are hard, brittle, iron-containing, grey or black in colour, and polycrystalline, that is, they are made up of a large number of tiny crystals.
They are chemically combined iron oxide and one or more additional metals.
Permanent magnets are made of ferrite. Transformer and toroidal inductors with ferrite cores.
Elements of computer memory.
Ferrite, often known as alpha iron (-Fe), is a materials science word for iron or a solid solution containing iron and having a body-centred cubic crystal structure.
It is the component that gives steel and cast iron their magnetic properties, and it is the most common type of ferromagnetic material.

The Global ferrite market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
Cosmo Ferrites launches an improved version of CF295 for the Power Conversion Industry.
A new and improved version of the CF295 has been released by Cosmo Ferrites Ltd, one of the top producers and exporters of soft ferrites.
This material was created with the needs of the power conversion industry in mind and features low power losses and high saturation magnetic flux density over a broad operating frequency and temperature range.
Inductive Wireless Power Transfer (IWPT), Automotive Electronics, LED display devices, and LED lighting and electronic ballast are all served by CF295.
Most other commercially available power ferrite materials provide an improvement at the same operating condition as the CF295 values for lost power obtained.
Utilising CF295 also guarantees core loss and, hence, efficiency because it is unaffected by operating conditions.
The saturation flux density of CF295 is 525 mT at 25 °C, reducing to 410 mT at 100 °C, making it safe to use with any known class of insulating materials.
In contrast, other power ferrite materials typically have values of 490 mT at 25 °C and 380 mT at 100 °C.
