In reality, flush-style sensors have a shield that limits the magnetic field so that it only radiates from the sensor’s face. In a metal bracket or even inside your machine, flush-style, or shielded, sensors can be fitted flush without the metal generating a false trigger.
It is usual to leave one diameter of the sensor between neighbouring shielded inductive proximity sensors when placing them side by side. The sensing distance of a shielded sensor is typically about half that of an equivalent non-shielded sensor.
Data sheets for inductive sensors often include crucial information like flush / non-flush. Flush-mountable sensors can be completely integrated into the surrounding metal up to the highest sensor face, as the name suggests. Conversely, non-flush sensors need a little extra room around the sensing face.
The Global Flush-front sensors market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
Launch of Miniature Front-Flush Pressure Sensors by ifm Electronic
Ifm Electronics new PL54 line of tiny pressure sensors allows for flush mounting with the inside surface of the pipe or vessel in which they are used.
They are therefore perfectly suited for usage with adhesives, media that contain suspended particles, and other viscous media that have a tendency to “fill” the empty area left by a sensor with a non-flush mounting.
The new sensors have a flush-mount diaphragm that is immediately welded to the sensor body and provides a typical analogue output. This configuration measures flats with excellent accuracy in a small housing.
The sensors are made of corrosion-resistant high-grade stainless steel and have high vibration and shock resistance, making them appropriate for use in mobile applications and other demanding settings.
