A forage harvester, also known as a silage harvester, forager, or chopper, is a farm tool that harvests forage plants to make silage. Silage is grass, corn, or hay that has been chopped into small pieces and compacted together in a storage silo, silage bunker, or silage bags.
Forage Harvesters are used to harvest all types of green fodder and grass for direct feeding or silage production. Forages are crucial in the production of food and fibre. Forages, on the other hand, play a critical role in preserving the natural environment.
Forages can provide repeated harvests each year, return nitrogen to the soil, prevent erosion, filter water and clean the air, absorb impurities, and be used in medicines.
The Global Forage harvester Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
During the anniversary year, the 9500 Self-Propelled Forage Harvester was introduced. The 9500 SPFH will be launched in Australia this August, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of the John Deere 9000 Series Self-Propelled Forage Harvester (SPFH).
The innovative harvester will provide more power, precision, and productivity to Australian farmers and is a fitting milestone commemorating John Deere's half-century commitment to providing industry-best harvest solutions to the nation's agriculture sector.
The MY23 8000 Series will remain unchanged, but horsepower for the 8200 has been increased via an engine upgrade. Farmers and contractors require long-lasting, high-capacity forage harvesters that consistently deliver maximum throughput to maximise harvest windows.
The new 9500 is one of three models that offer increased power and throughput thanks to John Deere's new JD18X engine, which reduces revolutions per minute (RPM) while also lowering fuel and oil consumption to drive even more efficiency gains during operation.
" HarvestMotionTM PLUS, an advanced feature that synchronises engine speed with crop flow and power needs to maintain consistent crop throughput at low RPMs, is also available on the 9500, 9600, and 9700.
HarvestMotion PLUS adds 18, 27, and 48 kW of power to the 9700, 9600, and 9500, respectively. Farmers and contractors benefit from 10% higher productivity and 10% lower fuel consumption per tonne harvested.
