INTRODUCTION
For GaN eToF Laser Driver IC utilized in robotics, surveillance systems, and vacuum cleaners, Efficient Power Conversion (EPC) has introduced the EPC21701, a laser driver that monolithically integrates an 80V, 40A FET with gate driver and 3.3 logic level input into a single chip. It is made for lidar systems that are used for the measurement of time of flight (ToF), robotic vision, and industrial safety.
The EPC21701 laser driver is controlled by 3.3V logic and requires a supply voltage of 5V. It has a voltage switching time of less than 1 ns and a delay time of less than 3.6 ns from the input to the output, allowing it to modulate laser driving currents up to 15 A at frequencies greater than 50 MHz.
Utilizing EPC's proprietary GaN IC technology, the EPC21701 is a single-chip driver and GaN FET in a chip-scale BGA form factor of just 1.7 by 1 by 0.68 mm.
The packaging at the wafer level is compact, has a low inductance, and works very well with the laser system. The overall solution is 36% smaller on the printed circuit board (PCB) than an equivalent multi-chip discrete implementation due to its small form factor and integration of multiple functions.
The GaN eToF Laser Driver ICiver IC family, which also includes the 40V, 15A EPC21601 and the 40V, 10A EPC21603 options, is completed by the 80V EPC21701 in a chip-scale package (CSP).
It is easier to design, layout, and assemble integrated devices on a single chip, which also saves PCB space, improves efficiency, and lowers costs. ToF solutions will become more widespread and easier to adopt across a wider range of end-user applications thanks to this family of products.
GLOBAL GAN ETOF LASER DRIVER IC MARKET SIZE AND FORECAST
The Global GaN eToF Laser Driver IC market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
