GLOBAL GOLIATH CRANE MARKET

INTRODUCTION

A Goliath crane, often referred to as a gantry crane, is a type of overhead crane with one or two girder frames supported by independent legs that travel over a track, rail system, or on wheels. Usually, they are taken into account when there is a good reason not to use an overhead runway system. Gantry cranes are often employed outside or in front of an overhead crane system.

These cranes, unlike overhead cranes, do not need to be connected to the building's support system, hence there is no need for sturdy runway beams and support columns. When compared to an overhead crane with the same specifications, this can occasionally result in a sizable decrease in material costs and be a more profitable solution.

Larger gantry cranes may travel along a rail buried in the ground; this is often done in a straight line and in a specific work area. Smaller gantries can be moved around a building for simple maintenance or fabrication work because they often include wheels or castors.

For large fabrication projects or in some types of outdoor yards, such as steelyards, rail yards, scrap yards, shipping and container yards, full gantry or semi-gantry systems are frequently used.

Additionally, they are notorious for their precast or cement works in places where they make and correct slab concrete. They may be used outside thanks to their design, which also makes it possible for forklifts and other motorised traffic to apply and pass through underneath.

GLOBAL GOLIATH CRANE MARKET SIZE AND FORECAST

The Global goliath crane market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.

NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH

One of India's first manufacturers of gantry cranes is LOADMATE. The business is known for producing overhead cranes and hoists of the highest calibre, which are beneficial to customers from various industries. One of the top crane manufacturers in India is LOADMATE because to technology advancements and dependable solutions.

There are many different styles and models of gantry cranes, such as Rubber Tired Gantry, Semi Gantry Cranes, and Full Gantry Cranes. The integration of vacuum beams, grapple attachments, or specialised hooks is possible with these cranes.

One can control their Gantry cranes from the ground using a radio remote control or a cable-connected pendant. By switching to a new model, you can find several controls. The crane can also be operated manually, partially automatically, or totally automatically. Additionally, there are loading trolleys built inside cranes, and these trolleys primarily serve the purpose of lifting.

As one of the Goliath Crane manufacturers, LOADMATE provides cranes for a variety of uses, including the pipe and marble industries. These cranes can handle intermodal containers and other sorts of loads with heavy-duty structural buildups.

RECENT DEVELOPMENT

Sarens upgrades to a new, larger Goliath crane to replace the old one. Overlooking a dry dock and a work site at street level, the recently erected Goliath crane stretches 130 metres. Two CC 6800s with 96- and 114-metre booms, as well as a strandjack tower system, were used by Sarens to demolish the old gantry crane.

The SMLT 5800 and SMLT 3500 systems were used to construct the freestanding tower arrangement up to a total height of 103 metres above the dry dock level. Four 650-ton strand jacks were supported by a beam system on top of the towers, and the main girder of the Goliath was moved out of the dry dock by a "low" level skid system that was 20 metres above the dock floor after it had been lowered.

The solid tower systems built to support the high-level skidding system and strand jacks, as well as the use of the second, lower-level skidding system to overtake the load from the strand jacks and place it onto the SPMTs, were what made this project special. These systems were built without guide wires.

Ingenious and meticulous engineering by Sarens also required the use of an underground dock floor made of reinforced concrete, as well as supporting the hinged and fixed legs to keep them vertical while lowering the main girder (horizontal beam).

Sarens also relied on cutting-edge machinery, such as the remotely controlled strand jack system combined with a standalone level measurement tool, to lift the main girder at a perfectly horizontal level and prevent overloading the crane or tower system.A CC 6800 and strandjacks positioned on top of the tower system were used to remove the main girder of the old Goliath crane.

Its fixed and hinged legs were then separated. A combination of SPMTs and steelwork were used to stabilise the fixed leg before it was driven along its train and pulled out from under the main girder. After being slid five metres up into the towers and clearing the top of the hinged leg, the main girder was then lowered to the ground.

It was then "launched" off of the dry dock using a combination of SPMTs and a low-level skid system before being transported to the laydown area on SPMTs.
