Henkel is increasing the selection of active alignment adhesives specifically designed for ADAS sensors, which are necessary for accuracy and excellent sensor dependability. The new material is created to bond particularly well to aluminium and FR4 and offers a very high cure depth after only a few seconds of UV exposure.
The ADAS camera and LiDAR modules perform safety-critical functions by assisting the driver to maintain control of the driving environment, thereby ensuring the safety of all road users.
The active-alignment assembly method is essential to ensuring that components are produced with the necessary quality where accuracy is crucial: The active alignment technique enables the positioning and subsequent fine-tuning of the optical components to guarantee excellent focus before being cured in place.
The active alignment offers six degrees of freedom in the alignment process, with a precision of 100 nanometers, as opposed to a threaded lens barrel, which can only be modified in the z-direction.
