Off-road tires (also known as off-road tires) are a class of automobile tires that use deep tread to increase grip on uneven terrain such loose dirt, mud, sand, or gravel.
They don't have studs like ice or snow tyres do, but they do have deeper and broader grooves that are designed to help the tread grip dirt or mud.Due to the growing need for off-road tyres that provide the maximum traction on uneven conditions, the India Off the Road (OTR) Tyre Market is thriving.
The advantages of OTR tyres are also utilised in a variety of pieces of equipment for usage in the construction, mining, mechanised agricultural, and industrial sectors. Due to their numerous advantages, radial OTR tyres are now more in demand than bias tyres, and this trend is expected to continue.
Due to the rapid adoption of new technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and others, the India Off the Road (OTR) Tyre Market is one of the most developing markets that continues to expand.
But both the cost of the press equipment and the price of the raw materials are high when it comes to the production of OTR tyres. As a result, the market's ability to grow may be severely constrained.
The India off-the-road tire market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
A reputable tyre manufacturer named JK Tyre introduced three new off-the-road tyres (OTR). The brand-new items are 23X5.7-12 JET TRAX SUPER II 4PR TL, 26.5-25 Loader Champ 28PR E4/L4 TL, and 23X8.50-12 JET TRAX ULTIMA 6PR TL.
The company asserts to be the industry's top producer of the 40.00-57 tyre, which has a 12-foot diameter and weighs more than 3,400kg and is the largest tyre size available in India.
To satisfy the various requirements of industrial and mining use, the company offers a wide range of durable items. A lot of cutting-edge and technologically sophisticated products have been introduced thanks to JK Tyre.
Their leadership in the off-the-road tyre market demonstrates its commitment to innovation and the development of goods that maximise performance and durability even on the most challenging Indian terrains.
The three new tyres, in their opinion, will strengthen their position in the OTR tyre market. Designed for articulated dumpers and wheel loaders, the 26.5-25 Loader Champ 28PR E4/L4 TL is a high-end, heavy-duty component.
It has a high-depth tyre with a specially designed tread pattern that, even in difficult mining operation conditions, offers exceptional traction, mileage, and cut resistance. They are designed to be utilised in "Non-Highway Services (NHS)" and other kinds of construction equipment. The tread compound of the tyres, which is based on silica, offers greater resistance to wear.
New 19.5" Off-Road Regional Tyres have been launched by Continental. Both the Continental HSR regional steer/all-position and HDR+ regional on/off-road drive tyres are offered in weight Range H and provide an additional 220 lbs of weight bearing capacity per tyre in single and dual applications.
This translates to an additional 880 pounds per load of carrying capability for dual drive pickup trucks, or "dually," like the Silverado 5500. This means additional revenue for fleets that are paid by the pound. Having the capacity to transport larger or heavier equipment is important for utility fleets.
The tyres' maximum marketable speed rating for this type of tyre is 87 mph, which is also the speed rating for which they are speed-rated.
The Continental HSR regional steer/all-position tyre has a 16/32" tread depth and a closed-shoulder tread pattern, which results in even wear and less noise for the comfort of the driver. In curbing tests, the enhanced tread compound delivered 12% additional miles to removal compared to the HSR and is resistant to tearing. Cuts, abrasions, and curbs are all prevented by scuff ribs.
When the vehicle is driven mostly on roads, it can be employed in any axle position due to its versatility. 225/70R19.5 size HSR tyres are offered in Load Range G and H.
For increased grip, the Continental HDR on/off-road drive tyre boasts an open shoulder tread design and an 18/32" depth of tread. In mud, dirt, and gravel, it provides an off-road advantage. In addition to 12% better performance, the new tread composition is tear-resistant.
A scuff rib offers protection from curbs, cuts, and abrasions like the HSR does. As a result of the strong lateral stability the aggressive tread pattern offers, squirm is reduced and handling is enhanced. In load ranges G and H, the HDR+ is offered in the 225/70R19.5 size.
For replacement tyres, Continental's HSR+ and HDR+ will be offered both through OE suppliers and through independent tyre retailers. The International CVTM Series and the GM Silverado 5500 and 6500 should have tyres that meet or exceed this Load Range H standards, drivers should be aware of this.
Throughout the world, Continental collaborates on the development of tyres with original equipment manufacturers. The proper set of tyres makes sure that a car performs as well on paper as it does in real life. In the entire world, tyres from Continental are installed on roughly every third car.
