With the advent of electric cars and their noticeably reduced propulsion noise emissions, it is now feasible to analyze tire-road noise more precisely using cruise measures, even at speeds where a combustion engine propulsion system would typically result in biased test findings.
To provide a long-range on a single battery charge, low rolling resistance between the tire and the road surface, which results in reduced energy loss, is crucial.
The primary criterion for choosing potential EV tires has been the rolling resistance value on the EU tire label. The second selection criterion was the wet grip rating on the tire label, with a lower number indicating a shorter stopping distance.
As the demand for electric cars rises, the market for EV tires in Europe is anticipated to expand, presenting sales prospects for EV tires.
The Italy EV Tire Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2026, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2027.
The forthcoming Lucid Air car will showcase a new high load (HL) index tire from Italian tire producer Pirelli. The increased weight from the batteries can be supported by this HL tire, which was created especially for electric cars and SUVs. It nevertheless has a low rolling resistance.
The P ZERO HL tire from Pirelli has been formally unveiled, and it will initially be installed on the Lucid Air car. These high load tires can sustain a higher per cent weight than a regular tire and six to nine per cent more weight than an extra load XL tire of the same size, claims the tire maker.
These high-load P ZERO tires were created in collaboration with Lucid Motors as part of Pirelli's "perfect fit" approach to meet the performance requirements for the EV. Future Air owners will thus notice an "LM1" marking on the sidewalls as a reference to Pirelli's unique creation.
