Lead-free brass alloys are a type of copper alloy composed primarily of zinc and copper. The ratio of these two metals will vary depending on the application for which it is being used; for example, a high copper content is preferable for machining applications, while a higher zinc content is better for applications where strength is required.
Additionally, other metals, such as aluminum and manganese, may be added to improve certain properties (e.g., corrosion resistance).Composition is key when it comes to lead free brass. This alloy has the same advantage that traditional leaded brass has in terms of cost, machinability and low weight as leaded brasses; however, lead free brass removes lead from the manufacturing process.
Lead free brass tends to contain less zinc and more copper than leaded varieties, allowing for a stronger part that can resist corrosion better but does lack some of the malleability of leaded brass due to its higher copper content.
Lead free brass can also be used for food-grade applications where lead would present toxicity concerns in addition to being a more environmentally friendly option for plumbers and those draining lines that come into contact with drinking water or aquatic life.
The Global Lead-Free Brass Alloy Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
Glo Brass and ECO BRASS are Lead-Free Brass Alloy environmentally friendly materials, complying with RoHS directive, ELV directive and Tap water quality standards.
Glo Brass is the new material whose copper content is close to general brass, the machinability and the strength are well balanced, it is possible to supply thinner bars, so it is recommended to mass-market segment which lead-containing brass are applied.
ECO BRASS is suitable substitutes for lead-containing brass as well as Austenitic stainless steel (SUS304), since ECO BRASS has a similar strength to stainless steel in addition to characteristics like superior machinability and hydrogen embrittlement resistance.
Glo Brass and ECO BRASS contain lead less than 0.09%, complying with RoHS directive, ELV directive and Tap water quality standards, especially NSF61 (Lead elution amount : 5ppb) of Tap water quality standard in the U.S. Material properties of Glo Brass and ECO BRASS are improved by containing Si which does not affect health while Lead does harm to.
