Ship traffic flow simulation is a type of simulation test that uses computer technology to run on a ship traffic flow model. It is a technological method for studying ship traffic that involves developing, operating, and implementing the traffic system in a laboratory setting.
When available, MarineTraffic provides information about ships’ current geographical positions as well as other related information such as ship details, destination, estimated time of arrival, photographs, port traffic statistics, weather conditions, points of interest, and so on.
Traffic simulation models consider fundamental traffic flow, speed, and density characteristics and integrate them with analytical approaches such as demand-supply analysis, capacity analysis, shock-wave analysis, and queuing analysis.
The Global Marine traffic simulation system market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
Vessel Traffic Service Simulator Realistic scenarios are being introduced by MPA Singapore to teach Vessel Traffic Management Officers in a risk-free setting.
To improve the realism and efficacy of our Vessel Traffic Management Officers’ training and assessment, MPA has contracted with Transas Marine Pacific Pte Ltd to deliver a Vessel Traffic Service Simulator with five consoles as a training platform for its officers. The simulator replicates the whole workspace of a Vessel Traffic System operator.
It employs the most recent Vessel Traffic Information System, which is outfitted with simulated configurations in the Radar and Very High Frequency Base Stations, as well as the Automatic Identification System (AIS) and Closed Circuit Television. (CCTV).
It can also mimic ship motions and environmental conditions in a waterway that are similar to the real thing. This enables instructors to design locations with varying navigational situations, manage target ships, and provide a variety of training scenarios and assignments.
The implementation of the Vessel Traffic Service Simulator will improve the quality and efficiency of maritime training in Singapore. It provides a variety of realistic scenarios for Vessel Traffic Management Officers to practise in a risk-free environment.
