Micropiles are friction piles with a small diameter that are grouted and drilled. Each pile contains steel components that are anchored into the supporting rock or soil, typically using grout made of cement.
During installation drilling, the bearing stratum is logged to ensure that the bearing capacity is sufficient. To improve mass stability, micropiles can be used to “stitch” the soil together inside anticipated shear zones.
Micropiles can transfer loads to capable bearing strata in liquefiable profiles to comply with seismic design specifications.Ability to install in installations with limited headroom (8 feet high) and a 5 foot wide access path little or absent vibrations/spoils. No dewatering is necessary; installation is possible where there is a high water table. obstacles in the ground (such as boulders and debris)
The Global Micro pile drilling rigs Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH
Massenza unveils ultra-compact MM3 rigs. Two iterations of Massenza’s MM3, a super-compact rig intended for use in micro pile, soil anchor, small foundation, and geotechnical applications, have been released. The MM3 drill rig, a new, more compact version of Massenza’s existing MM4 drill rig, is made to order and may be customised to meet the needs of individual customers.
It can be equipped with a Hatz brand Stage V diesel engine rated at 73.4 horsepower (54 kW), alternatively it can have a 75 horsepower (55 kW) electric motor and a separate generator. The electric version of the MM3 is appropriate for use inside buildings where not only is space limited, but emissions are rigorously controlled.
It measures less than 1m wide and 2.2m high, making it tiny enough to pass through doorways. Similar to this, the rig’s track may be increased from 900mm to 1,400mm while maintaining its compactness to provide for better stability.
The MM3 can drill with rods up to 3 metres in length and has a mast with a pull-up capacity of up to 4,000 kg.The MM3 can be ordered with a hydraulic double clamp with a free passage diameter up to 205mm (8in) in addition to being fully radio remote-controlled. Additionally, a variety of rotary head variants, including high-torque (up to 7,000Nm), high-speed (up to 714rpm), and multipurpose rotary heads, are offered as options.
A 1,000 kg direct pull winch, a screw, centrifugal, or triplex pump, a water/foam pump, and an air lubricator are additional options available to MM3 purchasers.
