    Jai introduced two 8K-resolution 4-CMOS multi-sensor (R/G/B/NIR) line scan cameras. Both of the new versions include three 8K CMOS sensors that are mounted on a three-way dichroic prism that divides incoming light into red, green, and blue wavebands to provide exceptional color accuracy for line scan applications.

     

    The three prism-mounted sensors are properly aligned to a single optical path, unlike trilinear cameras, which must use compensation algorithms to account for the spacing in their multi-line sensors. 

     

    As a result, the prism cameras are unaffected by the vibrations and speed variations that are typical of objects on conveyor belts or in free-fall sorting, which can result in color fringes or “halos” in images from non-prism cameras due to continually varying parallax and keystone effects.

     

    The cameras can be directly connected to rotary encoders for synchronization with conveyor belts and other motion systems, and they also support the precise time protocol (IEEE 1588) for multi-camera networked arrangements.
