The dairy company stated that it is attempting to discover a good fiber-based alternative to all plastic spoons and straws for the more than 100 million related goods it manufactures each year. Paper straws in production are currently being tested by TIME.
If tests are successful, paper straws are intended to be used with TINE's beverage products. If not, an environmentally friendly wooden spoon will be used with the company's yogurt and porridge products throughout the course of the next year.
TINE has already introduced new, eco-friendly packaging options for a number of its items this fall. The company already uses 100% renewable milk containers. The business has introduced its organic milk in a more environmentally friendly carton to help lessen its environmental impact.
The traditional board, "fold" opening has taken the place of the renewable plastic cap. Additionally, TINE has created an updated design for the cardboard cup.
