An oil extraction equipment, also called an oil press or expeller, uses high pressure and heat to âsqueezeâ the oils out of a plant product. Those products â including seeds, nuts, vegetables, fruits and leafy plants â release their oils through this mechanical process, which is often done without adding any chemicals.
Two common oilseed extraction processes are solvent extraction and mechanical extraction using a screw press. Today in the United States, mechanical oil expression is not widely used due to low oil recovery. However, the use of screw press is preferred by small processors because of its low capital cost.
The conventional technology used for oil extraction from oilseeds is by solvent extraction. In solvent extraction, n-hexane is used as a solvent for its attributes such as simple recovery, non-polar nature, low latent heat of vaporization (330 kJ/kg) and high selectivity to solvents.
The Global Oilseed Extraction Equipment market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
Anderson International Corp Oilseed Extraction Equipment.
Anderson International, as the inventor of the original continuous mechanical screw press, has been a global leader in the vegetable/oilseed extraction industry for 130 years. Theyâve designed, manufactured, and commissioned over 12,000 pieces of processing equipment for over 1,000 plant installations in over 100 countries, processing in excess of 100 different materials.
Not only a leading supplier of full-pressing equipment for specialty oil extraction, Anderson also manufactures extrusion equipment for preparation of low and high oil content seeds to minimize utility consumption and maximize yield in chemical and mechanical extraction plants.
Today, Anderson supports clients globally with process expertise, durable equipment, innovative designs and metallurgies, replacement parts, research and development, total plant layouts, installation supervision, and training necessary for optimal performance of the entire system.
Andersonâs high-shear extruder system reduces the number of steps for oilseed preparation, doubles pressing capacity, increases profitability, and extends the life of your oilseed equipment. In pressing applications where heat exposure is to be minimized, the Duo series Expellers offer the highest recovery of oil in a single pass.
