A piezo actuator valve is a particular kind of valve that regulates the flow of fluids or gases using a piezoelectric actuator. A device known as a piezoelectric actuator controls the opening and closing of a valve by applying mechanical stress to a piezoelectric material, which produces an electric charge.
A valve stem or diaphragm are connected to a piezoelectric actuator in a piezo actuator valve. The piezoelectric material deforms and exerts a mechanical force on the valve stem or diaphragm when an electric charge is given to it, which in turn regulates the flow of the valve.
The valve can be opened or closed to different degrees by adjusting the voltage given to the piezoelectric material, which enables precise control of fluid or gas flow.
Piezo actuator valves are frequently employed in a wide range of industrial and scientific applications, including fluid dispensing systems, gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, and flow control in chemical and biochemical processing. Its quick response times, minimal power requirements, and high precision control make them highly prized.
Global piezo actuator valve market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
For applications requiring extremely small and light weight piezoelectric actuators valves or stages, Dynamic Structures and Materials, LLC is happy to introduce two of them.
The DSM line of piezoelectric positioning actuators, which now offers a range of motion from 10 microns to 10 mm, now includes these flexure-guided mechanisms. Motion that is free of backlash and friction is made possible by the use of flexure guiding.
The 6 gramme titanium FPA-180E piezo actuator valve, which has dimensions of less than 8 x 9 x 26 mm, has a displacement range of 180 microns.
The FPA-180E has a stiffness of 0.39 N/micron and a 1325 Hz unloaded natural frequency, providing a quick dynamic response.
Sized at 8 x 10 x 17 mm, the FPA-80E is a somewhat unusual stage design made of stainless steel. Stroke, stiffness, and unloaded natural frequency are correspondingly 80 microns, 0.5 N/micron, and 1700 Hz.
