PoE Media Converters provide up to 100W Power over Ethernet (PoE) to Powered Devices (PDs), such as IP cameras, VoIP phones, and wireless access points, while transparently connecting fibre to copper.
Power over Ethernet (PoE) is a wired Ethernet local area network (LAN) implementation method that allows the electrical current required to operate each device to be transferred by Ethernet data cables rather than normal electrical power cords and cabling.
A networking device known as a media converter is used to link two distinct media, such as Ethernet copper and Ethernet fibre. They often link items that are farther than 100 metres from the closest switch.
The Global PoE Media Converter market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
L-com Launches New Gigabit Ethernet Switches and Media Converter with PoE Ports.L-com's new Gigabit Ethernet switch line includes two models with plug-and-play, unmanaged operation and PoE enabled RJ45 ports.
The WM8-4G-4GP+ is an eight-port Industrial Gigabit PoE Ethernet switch with four regular 10/100/1000 RJ45 ports and four ports that enable 802.3at/af PoE+ with a total power budget of 60W. This tough switch has a metal, IP30-rated housing that makes it suitable for use in industrial or commercial settings.
The DT10-2G-8GP+ 10 Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch from L-com was created to handle commercial Ethernet applications and may be utilised on desktops, in IT closets, and in climate-controlled data centres. Eight 10/100/1000 RJ45 ports on this switch support 802.3at/af PoE+ and have a 120W total power budget. Additionally, this switch includes two regular 10/100/1000 RJ45 ports without PoE.
L-com now provides the MC-1GP+SFP media converter in addition to the two new PoE Gigabit Ethernet switches. With a total power budget of 30W and compatibility for 802.3at/af PoE+, this Gigabit Ethernet media converter also has a 1000SX/LX, SFP/GBIC slot that can fit any common SFP (small form-factor pluggable) transceiver.
