Global Polypropylene Engineering Plastics Market 2022-2030

Last Updated:  Apr 25, 2025 | Study Period: 2022-2030

GLOBAL POLYPROPYLENE ENGINEERING PLASTICS MARKET

INTRODUCTION

A lightweight copolymer material with high impact, chemical resistance, and resistance to stress cracking is polypropylene.

This material not only has these qualities but also displays excellent flexibility and durability at low temperatures with little moisture intake.

Normally, polypropylene is resilient and malleable, particularly when copolymerized with ethylene. This enables the use of polypropylene as an engineering material. Polypropylene has a good resilience to fatigue and is comparatively affordable.

NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH

BASF and HP collaborate to introduce polypropylene materials. Together, the chemical manufacturer BASF and the multinational IT giant HP have created a new HP 3D high reusability PolyPropylene (PP) that intends to boost medical industry output. According to reports, the PP material has been created for HP's Jet Fusion 5200 3D Series of systems and is strong enough to produce production parts at a reasonable cost.

Toray Plastics (America), Inc. announces the start of commercial production of packaging and label films on its brand-new, cutting-edge, 8.7-meter, five-layer, in-line coated polypropylene film line with automated slitting.

Toray regards the specialised, exclusive machinery as one of the most effective BOPP film production lines in the world. It enables Toray to produce highly engineered next-generation laminations and mono-material films, as well as enhance its flexible packaging product lines, which now include a strong label portfolio.

The distinctive, energy-saving range also supports Toray's own sustainability programme by lowering the company's carbon impact. Application areas for the extra OPP capacity include packaging, labels, healthcare, and industry.

INEOS Olefins & Polymers announced that it has joined the innovative UK partnership known as the NEXTLOOPP project, which aims to produce circular, food-grade recycled polypropylene from post-consumer recycled (PCR) packaging.

The project seeks to gain approval from the UK's Food Standard Agency (FSA) and its European counterpart by validating the production method for food-grade recycled polypropylene and its commercial viability (EFSA).
