Horticulture LEDs are solid state light sources that provide PAR (photosynthetically active radiation) in the 400–700 nanometer (nm) spectral region to promote photosynthesis in plants.
When there is insufficient natural light, horticulture lighting is a technique for promoting plant development using artificial illumination sources.According to the definition of horticulture, this area of agriculture focuses on cultivating plants for human use, medical treatment, and aesthetic pleasure.
The Qatar horticulture LED lighting market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
Agrokultura Group and new partner Svetogor collaborate on Philips Lighting’s first Russian LED cucumber project. With the help of Agrokultura Group, LLC and its new business partner Svetogor, Philips Lighting (Euronext: LIGHT), the market leader in lighting, has constructed its first LED grow light project for cucumber growing in Russia.
Near Moscow, there is a sizable provider of greenhouse-grown cucumbers and tomatoes called Agrokultura. The company is testing a hybrid installation on 7,550 square metres with HID toplighting and GreenPower LED interlighting in an effort to boost yields, predictability, and cut costs.
About 4,000 hours of lighting are used in their cucumber greenhouse from September to April. The profitability of the greenhouse might be greatly increased by lowering the electricity expenses for their lighting system.
We will need to know the return on investment they obtain during the experiment to decide whether or not to convert their entire 30 hectares of greenhouse to LED illumination. They have chosen to work with Philips Lighting because of its superior technological products and capacity to deliver sizable orders in a short amount of time.
They know that lighting costs make up a significant portion of operational costs for Russian growers, and they are eager to help Agrokultura increase its yields and reduce its energy consumption with the use of their LED technologies.
Their recent participation in Russian projects like LLC Agro-Invest, the largest LED project in the world for cucumbers and tomatoes, has generated a lot of interest throughout Russia and other parts of the world.
