The Retort Film is a bi-axially oriented transparent polyester film with a layer of a unique co-polymer co-extruded on one side (either the inside or the outside). This film is appropriate for uses requiring high levels of thermal exposure, treatment, and resistance.
With its strong heat sealing ability and ability to endure high pressure throughout the crystallisation and cooking processes, film is suitable for retorting applications (Conditions: 1350C, 30 min)
Its important characteristics are superior seal strength, good heat stability, no orange peel, odor-free, and good machinability on the pouch-making line.
The Global RETORT FILM market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2030.
Tempo Paper Pulp & Packaging Ltd is pleased to announce that CPP Retort grade film has been developed successfully. Compared to standard grade CPP film, this film performs well during the retort/sterilization process and has great seal strength and superior bond strength.
The highly demanding retort pouch is made of a multi-layer laminate that can be processed like a can, is shelf-stable, and enables the convenience of frozen boil-in-the-bag items.
It could include an outside layer of polyester film, a middle layer of polyamide film, and an interior layer of cast polypropylene film that has been adapted for retorts and all of its subtypes.
To withstand the thermal rigours of a canning process, which may involve temperatures as high as 135 °C (275 °F), material for retort pouches must possess outstanding barrier qualities throughout a long shelf life, seal integrity, toughness/puncture resistance, and abrasion resistance.
Retort pouches provide an advantage over cans since they are flatter, as opposed to cans, which means that less heat is needed to raise the temperature inside the product to a safe level.
