Zarlink Semiconductor Inc.dual-channel device designed to provide battery feed, ringing, and monitoring on voice loops prevalent in short-loop VoIP applications is the Le9530 Dual Ringing SLIC device.

 

The Broadcom BCM3378/3380/3382, BCM6816, and other compatible codecs are designed to communicate with this device. With the help of a single, user-adjustable battery and a +3.3 V V CC per channel, the Le9530 device can function independently.

 

Each channel offers ground start (Tip open), forward and reverse battery feed, voice transmission, power ringing, an ultra low-power scan condition, and disconnect. Additionally, a test load switch that supports integrated test techniques is offered.

 

Two-Tier Architecture. No impulse noise crosstalk in any operating condition to the listening channel in forward or reverse active states . Two Power Supplies .

 

Two fully separate integrated SLIC channels. 3.3 V for V CC .Single user-adjustable battery input per channel.Allows use of 50 protection resistors and less expensive lower current rated protectors.

 

High Voltage Design.Complies with Comcast Ringing criteria without clipping distortion.Robust solution with no damage over extended ringing cycles or toggling the ringer on and off.
