Global Robotic Marine Inspection Drone Market 2023-2030

Last Updated:  Apr 25, 2025 | Study Period: 2023-2030

GLOBAL ROBOTIC MARINE INSPECTION DRONE MARKET

INTRODUCTION

Inspecting offshore wind fields, for instance, is becoming a more common use for drones and underwater robots (ROVs). The foundation can be examined with ROVs, while drones are ideal for inspecting the mast and blades for irregularities. With such a drone, maritime infrastructure can be examined all at once, which is a benefit.

Separate teams no longer need to be sent in for foundation work underwater and above water building. The ROV can also start a dive anywhere on the water's surface, even a little ways away from the pilot.

NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH

A drone that has been described as "the world's first sea-air integrated drone" has been revealed by the Japanese telecommunications company KDDI, commercial drone manufacturer ProDrone, and underwater robotics company QYSEA.

The cutting-edge car, which has a footprint of less than 1 square metre, was revealed during a flight showcase. With its intelligent capabilities, high working efficiency, and reduced labour demand, the "revolutionary" Sea-Air Integrated Drone seeks to modernise offshore and marine operations.

The drone, which combines an industrial-class FIFISH Pro V6 Plus ROV from QYSEA and a heavy-duty airborne drone from KDDI, is produced by the two companies in conjunction with each other. (remotely operated underwater vehicle).

Six years prior, KDDI had conceived of this large-scale endeavour with the goal of fusing cutting-edge mobile communication networks with drone technologies to enable longer flight times and distances.

The first commercial drone with seamless operation through land, sea, and air is the outcome of technological accomplishment between KDDI and QYSEA.

Remote control of the drone allows it to be flown to its predetermined path at sea using long-range mobile communications. The FIFISH ROV is released and deployed to work after touching down at its intended position. From a secure working position, the pilot can then remotely operate the ROV and carry out a variety of underwater inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks.
