A cryostat is a type of microtome used to cut tissue at extremely low temperatures. Cryostats, specialised tools that include a tissue microtome (cryotome) positioned within a chilling chamber that enables rapid tissue freezing and a continuous process of cutting tissue at low temperatures, are used to perform frozen sections. Present-day cryostats employ automated electrical refrigeration systems with precise temperatures.
The cryotome is made up of an objective where the frozen tissue chucks are placed, a stage where the cutting blades are held, and an advancing/retracting mechanism. In older machines, the stage holding the blades typically features manual mechanisms that permit the installation of replaceable knives or disposable metal blades. For the best tissue sectioning, cryotome stages also feature mechanisms to change the cutting blade's angle.
The Global Semi-automatic floor standing Cryostat market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
Cryostat M630, a floor-standing semi-automatic. A flash-freezing unit is included into the semi-automatic Cryostat M630 but is still separate from it. Standing and seated operations are possible because of the ergonomic open top design. Armrests that are cushioned improve user comfort. The Cryostat M630's cryo chamber is lit by LEDs to eliminate reflections.
The interior fast freezing stage has 12 specimen placements and room for specimens that have reached a fast freezing point. Resettable values include drefrost cycler and journey amount as well as chamber, section, and coarse thickness values. For the condensation water, a drainage system is provided. It has an easily accessible removable canister that is located outside the instrument. For a hygienic work environment, all surfaces are even and simple to clean.
Additionally, the Cryostat M630 is outfitted with a heated window and an automatic defrost cycler for defrosting on demand. An ergonomic flywheel drives the semi-automatic microtome's main movement, which is smooth and balanced for comfortable handling. Outside the chamber is where you'll find its thickness control. For coarse feed movement, a high precision stepping motor is used. Cross roller bearings with little backlash maintain unobstructed vertical movement. An auditory alert signals when you've reached the home and end positions.
