INTRODUCTION

A highly pure type of propylene called semiconductor grade propylene (SGP) is used to make semiconductors. SGP cannot be utilised in this application unless it complies with stringent purity standards. Low levels of contaminants including water, oxygen, and carbon monoxide are part of these requirements. Contaminants including heavy metals and organics must also be absent from SGP. From propylene gas, SGP is made. In the case of SGP, the propylene gas is separated from the other mixture constituents, such as water, oxygen, and carbon monoxide, using cryogenic distillation. SGP is a vital part of the manufacturing process for semiconductors. It is employed in numerous processes, including etching, cleaning, and depositing. Other electronic components, like solar cells and LEDs, are also made using SGP.
