Global Server Motherboard Market Size and Forecasts 2030

Last Updated:  Apr 25, 2025 | Study Period:

SERVER MOTHERBOARD MARKET

INTRODUCTION

It is also known by several other names, including mainboard and system board. The primary job of a server motherboard, on the other hand, is to combine all of the server components into a single system.

A server motherboard, unlike a PC, does not require a graphical user interface, costly video adaptors, an audio interface, or other peripherals.

Because the motherboard, CPU, and RAM are all interconnected, they should be treated as a unit when designing a server system. Their pick of one of them will have an impact on their choices for the other two.

SERVER MOTHERBOARD MARKET SIZE AND FORECAST

Server Motherboard Market Size

The Global Server motherboard market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.

SERVER MOTHERBOARD MARKETNEW PRODUCT LAUNCH

ASRock Introduces AMD Ryzen Threadripper Server Motherboard When AMD released its Ryzen Threadripper Pro CPUs for high-end workstations and subsequently made them generally available, it was just a matter of time until someone created server platforms for these processors.

With their WRX80D8-2T motherboard, which supports a Thread Ripper Pro CPU, up to 2TB of memory, and has seven PCIe 4.0 x16 slots, ASRock Rack appears to be the first firm to do so.

AMD's Ryzen Threadripper Pro CPUs enable up to 2TB of DDR4-3200 memory across eight channels (up from 256GB on non-Pro TR) and feature 128 PCIe lanes (up from 72 on non-Pro TR).

However, unlike AMD's EPYC processors for general servers, these chips have high clock speeds that make them appropriate for ultra-high-end workstations.

ASRock Rack is taking advantage of these capabilities to give its clients a unique set of features, thanks to the quantity of PCIe lanes and support for plenty of memory.

ASRock officially puts the WRX80D8-2T platform for servers focused at GPU compute applications or remote workstations — however considering AMD's Ryzen Threadripper Pro CPUs' high clock speeds, we presume the motherboard may also be utilised for CPU-based render farms.

The ASRock WRX80D8-2T motherboard features a sWRX8 socket for AMD's Ryzen Threadripper Pro 3000WX/5000WX CPUs, as well as AMD's WRX80 chipset.

The platform includes four SATA ports, two OCuLink connectors for U.2 SSDs or additional SATA HDDs (total of 12 SATA ports supported), two M.2 slots for SSDs, two 10GbE ports (enabled by Intel's X710-AT2), and one GbE connector for remote management. Keep bear note that when all PCIe slots are filled, not all SATA and OCuLink ports will function.
