Global Silicon Carbide(SiC) Solar Invertor Market Size and Forecasts 2030

Last Updated:  Apr 25, 2025 | Study Period:

SILICON CARBIDE(SIC) SOLAR INVERTER MARKET

INTRODUCTION

SiC is a more dependable and adaptable inverter component than silicon because it can endure greater temperatures and voltages. Solar-generated direct current is transformed by inverters into alternating current that is compatible with the grid. A portion of the energy used for conversion is wasted as heat.

Silicon carbide inverter for use in commercial vehicles. There is a high voltage (HV) range of 450V to 850V available. designed to deliver energy up to 300 kW. Up to 520A of maximum DC high voltage (HV) current are available. There is a ZF control board and custom software.

SILICON CARBIDE(SIC) SOLAR INVERTER MARKET SIZE AND FORECAST

Silicon Carbidesic Solar Invertor Market Size

The Global Silicon Carbide(Sic) solar inverter market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.

SILICON CARBIDE(SIC) SOLAR INVERTER MARKET NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH

Brek unveils 400 kW silicon carbide string inverter. With its revolutionary composite design and components that are optimised for silicon carbide (SiC), Brek Electronics has created two string inverters.

Brek IS400's dimensions are 762 mm, 381 mm, and 635 mm. Brek calculates that it weighs 100 kg, but it points out that several components are still not included in the computation. The system is up to 99% efficient. Its operational temperature ranges from -40 C to 60 C, and its DC power voltage ranges from 875 V to 1,500 V.

The IS200 gadget weighs around 50 kg and has dimensions of 381 mm x 381 mm x 635 mm but the same efficiency and operating temperature. While the IS400 has two maximum power point tracking (MPPT) inputs, it only has one. 222 A is the maximum DC input current per MPPT.

Its silicon carbide-based composite architecture solution for string inverters made it to the finals of the American-Made Solar Prize sponsored by the US National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).

Inverters made of silicon carbide are renowned for having better power densities and lower total system costs. Defects at the junction of the insulating silicon dioxide material and silicon carbide, however, continue to be a problem for such devices.
