The BMR314, a non-isolated DC/DC converter with a fixed 4:1 down-conversion ratio for intermediate bus applications, is now available, as Flex Power Modules is pleased to announce. The BMR314 is designed for use in applications like powering Point of Load (PoL) converters in AI and datacom centers where high peak loads can occur, space is limited, and energy efficiency is crucial.
It has a controller that was created in collaboration with top semiconductor manufacturer ON Semi. The BMR314's high efficiency of 97.4% peak in a low-profile package designed for cold wall cooling makes this possible. The device is completely protected against short circuits, overheating, input undervoltage, output overcurrent, and output overvoltage. It can handle up to 70 A of output current.
The product is supported by the Flex Power Designer software tool for configuration, performance simulation, and monitoring. Complete control and monitoring are offered through a PMBus® interface. The BMR314 has an industry-standard footprint and pinout and is offered as a surface-mount device with LGA terminations.
With a basic external filter, the product satisfies "Class B" conducted EMI limits to standards EN 55032/CISPR 32/FCC part 15J and complies with the safety requirements of IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 for non-isolated converters. The already-released BMR313 is offered in the same footprint for even higher power levels.
