    GLOBAL SUBMARINE TELECOM CABLE MARKET

    INTRODUCTION

Submarine telecom cables are an integral part of the global communications infrastructure. They are the backbone of the internet, providing the connectivity that allows us to communicate with each other around the world.

Submarine cables are made up of several layers of copper wires and optical fiber wrapped in a protective sheath. They are installed underwater, usually at depths of several thousand feet and can span distances of thousands of miles. The cables are laid by specialized ships, a process that can take several months.

Once installed, the cables are connected to land-based systems at each end. This connection allows for the transmission of data and voice communications from one point to another across the world.Submarine cables are incredibly reliable, with failure rates much lower than traditional land-based systems.

They are also much faster than traditional land-based systems, with transmission speeds of up to 40 gigabits per second. This makes them ideal for transmitting large amounts of data and high-speed internet connections.

Submarine cables are an important part of the global economy. They allow businesses to communicate with customers and employees around the world and enable countries to trade with each other.

They also provide access to the internet, making it possible for people to access information and stay connected with friends and family.Submarine telecom cables are an essential part of the global communications infrastructure and will continue to be so for many years to come.

    NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH

The Huawei Submarine Cable System (HSCS) is a high-capacity, low-latency submarine cable system developed by Huawei Marine Networks, a joint venture between Huawei Technologies and Global Marine Systems Ltd.

The HSCS is designed to meet the growing demand for global internet connectivity, allowing for faster and more reliable data transfers between continents.

The HSCS submarine cable system consists of two high-capacity cables: a 4,500 km long-haul cable connecting the United Kingdom, Portugal, and the United States, and a 1,500 km intra-continental cable connecting the United Kingdom and France.

The cables use Huawei’s advanced optical transmission technologies and are capable of delivering data speeds up to 100 terabits per second, making them among the most advanced submarine cables in the world.

The HSCS also features advanced features such as dynamic routing, advanced power management, and integrated security features. This provides the system with greater reliability and flexibility, allowing it to adapt to changing traffic patterns and ensure data security.

The NEC Trans-Pacific Cable System (TPC-3) is a high-speed undersea cable system that will connect Japan and the United States. The cable system will span over 10,000km and will feature four fibre pairs utilising the most advanced optical transmission technologies.

It will have a total transmission capacity of more than 20 terabits per second, enough to transmit more than 20 million HD TV channels at the same time.

The system is designed to enable high-speed, low-latency transmission of data between Japan and the US, providing a secure and reliable connection for businesses, government agencies, and individuals.

It is expected to increase international data transmission capacity by 50%.In addition, TPC-3 is designed with an advanced Submarine Line Terminal Equipment (SLTE) technology, which is expected to reduce maintenance costs and improve operational efficiency.
